As November arrives, communities across Canada and the United States pause to remember — to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and service of the men and women who have worn the uniform. Remembrance Day and Veterans Day are more than ceremonies; they are sacred moments to honour those who gave everything for peace. Yet as we bow our heads and lay our poppies, we must also remember that for many veterans, the journey of service doesn’t end on the battlefield — it continues within.
Across North America, thousands of veterans live with the lasting effects of war: post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, and moral injury. The silence after conflict can be deafening. Many carry invisible scars — sleepless nights, haunting memories, or an ever-present sense of disconnection from the world they returned to protect. Traditional treatments, while helpful for some, often fall short for others who need deeper, more holistic healing.
These struggles are not signs of weakness but of courage. To confront trauma head-on, to face one’s inner pain, requires the same bravery that once faced the chaos of war. As a society, it is our duty not only to honour the sacrifices made overseas, but also to ensure that our veterans have access to every form of care that can help them reclaim peace at home.
In recent years, a growing body of research has shown promising results in the use of psychedelic-assisted therapy — including substances like psilocybin (found in magic mushrooms), MDMA, and ketamine — to treat PTSD and depression. For many veterans who have struggled for years, this form of therapy represents not a last resort, but a breakthrough.
Clinical studies have demonstrated that when used in carefully controlled settings with trained professionals, psychedelics can help unlock deep emotional processing, dissolve shame, and reconnect individuals to a sense of meaning and wholeness. In other words, these substances don’t simply dull pain — they help people face it, understand it, and transform it.
Veterans have been among the strongest voices advocating for this new approach. They speak openly about how psychedelic therapy helped them process trauma that traditional talk therapy or medications could not reach. For some, it’s been a lifeline — a way to see beauty again, to feel connected to loved ones, to reawaken a sense of purpose. Honouring veterans means more than words or ceremonies — it means action. It means supporting the science, advocacy, and safe accessibility of new therapies that work. It means breaking down stigma, funding research, and ensuring that no veteran feels abandoned in their healing journey.
At Shroom Garden, we work actively with our veteran communities to build access to psychedelic-assisted therapies. We recognize that while the research is encouraging, access remains one of the greatest barriers to healing. Many veterans face high costs, lack of clinical availability, and lingering stigma when trying to explore these promising treatments.
That’s why we’re committed to making psychedelic therapy more affordable and more accessible for veterans. Through partnerships, education, and community initiatives, we aim to reduce barriers and ensure that those who have sacrificed so much can find healing in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment.
This Remembrance Day and Veterans Day, we are commiting a portion of our sales towards supporting our veterans. That’s why we are running a giveaway between November 4 and 14. Every purchase over $50 entitles you to an entry in our raffle – to win one of 2 $100 gift cards on our site.
$50 = 1 ticket
$100 = 2 tickets
$150 = 3 tickets — and so on!
All online orders are automatically entered. Winners will be contacted by email on Nov 15.
We do this because we know that many in the veteran community have found strength and healing through our products — finding moments of calm, balance, and reflection amid the lasting effects of trauma and service. For us, this is more than a promotion; it’s a way to give back to those who have given so much. We honour your resilience, your stories, and the quiet courage it takes to heal.
